Attended Ec challenge press conference last Monday with Mint and it was DABOMZ.
A big big big congratulations to Edmund Chen for setting a new world record on 29th July 2013 for creating the world's longest drawing by an individual, with a length of 601.255 meters exceeding the previous record of 411 meters by a Mexican Artist.
Everyone was so relief to know that he managed to clinch the world record because it was announced only ON THE DAY ITSELF, after the measurements of drawing and ensuring that all criteria are met which really kept everyone including Edmund Chen himself in suspense.
(p/s for the blur image but i just thought this is a really touching scene heh)
& what's even more heartwarming was that, the crew actually prepared a surprise token for him!
Edmund Chen's media friends came by too! (:
Students from Simei ITE's Nitec in Digital Audio Video Production (DAVP) have also showed their support by helping to record and document the entire process since Day 1! Big cheers to them for being such significant support in this challenge^^
Tried my best to capture the overall view of the drawing cus it's really long!
TADAHH. Pretty isn't it? (:
I particularly like this drawing because not only is the fish pretty but it also marks the completion of the entire drawing which i felt was really meaningful. The golden koi also represents a symbol of unity, determination and the need to swim against the odds to succeed which really reflect Edmund Chen's never-say-die spirit in this whole challenge. *salute*
这么美的鱼,哪里忘了跟它拍?
(Since it's so pretty, how can i not take a pic w it)
hehehe.
So here you go..
actually no, i think i see two fish in this picture. Mint looked as tho she is the 3D version of the fish. HAHAHA.
Xiang yun jie (:
Last but not least; Edmund Chen, 之财大哥! (:
Felt so honoured being able to be to take a pic w him. hehe. *fan girl mode on*
While being interviewed, Edmund Chen said something very meaningful like,
"你有梦想,生活才会有色彩.
你有理想,才有动力.
那如果很多东西你不去推动的话,生活就这样子一晃,2013就过了. "
"if you have dreams, your life will be colourful.
With ideals comes motivation,
& if you're not going to do anything about it, 2013 will be over in the blink of an eye. "
& i've no idea why but this sentence jus kept ringing in my mind after the event. Maybe because i find it very relatable and meaningful. Not only that, i really admire how he went after what he believed in and tadah here he is with his new record which he set not just for himself but for Singapore and the world. I guess, sometimes achieving starts from believing ya?(:
Once again, congratulation to Edmund Chen for setting a new world record! (:
Thanks lovelies for reading! (:
Till then,
xoxo
