He gave a scenario using fleas as an example. He illustrated
"a little flea that is no bigger than a button of your cell phone can jump up to 25 -30 feet straight up into the air. In order to make a flea circus, take a whole bunch of this fleas and put them in a jar. After that, take a piece of cardboard and cover the jar. You will noticed these fleas jumped up with full force, slammed their heads on the 'ceilings'& fall back down into the jar. They do it over& over again. Until the flea starts to associated pain with jumping high. So when you take these fleas out of the jar, you'll realize that for the rest of their life, these fleas would only jumped however high the cardboard was set."
(the sentence are not totally identical to what he said.)
&thats when we start to think, to think about the time when we were still a kid, when anything seem possible. Many of us dream of many possibilities we hoped to achieve. Astronaut, Baseball player etc.We are always enthusiatic and full of energy back then&there comes the sentence which triggered my emotions--> "But i don't think we dream like that anymore." John Beede said. This is because through the course in our life, people came in and put that cardboard over our head; we got pull down, discouraged& that is when we stopped dreaming like how we are when were young.
But the question now is, can we do it again?
YES, WE CERTAINLY CAN.
DREAM BIG& DON'T DOUBT.
LOOK OUT FOR OPPORTUNITIES& TAKE ACTION(:
Thankyou John Beede for being such an inspiration(:
